White Out

Since my roommates and I decided that we wanted a modern, white aesthetic for our new apartment, the line-up of snow-white furniture has slowly been tallying on my credit card. The damage so far: A wooden antique dresser, a silver-framed futon with white mattress, and a Japanese folding screen with stretched white cloth and arched metal frames above each panel. I've been gaining inspiration from images found online--elegant white walls, furniture, and upholstery sprinkled with perfectly placed pops of color. I find that within simple, clean interiors like these, your treasured items such as collected artwork and old photographs are more likely to get noticed among the accumulated mass, giving each item a greater sense of place and purpose.
