High-Class Hunger

Summertime is the season of choice for city-goers to trade in humid streets for the Hamptons and muggy subways for the coast of Maine. But if you plan on staying with friends or relatives on your weekend getaway, you'll need to bring an offering of thanks, and deciding on the perfect gift is never a simple task.

While an average gift of chocolates may seem cliché or a cringe-worthy reminder of February 14th, I suggest Marie Belle New York--the haute couture chocolatier to Russell Stover's ready-to-wear. Not only are Marie Belle chocolates delicious, but they are beautiful--each flavor (my favorites are champagne and lavender) is decorated with edible illustrations in bold colors and stylish designs. In addition, these heavenly mini morsels are packaged into elegant boxes in sky blue and chocolate brown hues, the perfect finishing touch to the stylish sweets. Slightly on the pricier side, but a great go-to gift for those last-minute getaways that will please your friend's eyes as well as her taste buds!

And don't forget to treat yourself! Stop into Marie Belle's flagship store at 484 Broome Street in SoHo to satisfy your sweet tooth or bring friends to relax over a cup of Aztec hot chocolate in the European inspired cacao bar and tea salon. For more information visit mariebelle.com
